Ringling's 70s Glam-Gala
The annual Ringling College of Art and Design fundraising gala, Avant Garde, features a unique theme each year worked on by currently attending students.
For 2023 Ringling rocked the 70s with big iconography of the musical culture from the era.
The biggest bang of the event comes in the form of the Presidential Arrival, featuring current president Dr. Larry Thompson and his wife, Patricia Thompson. This was a collaborative effort involving a team of several students, guided by Ringling INDEX consultants.
The final product? A duel of bedazzled duo Elton Johns rocking the biggest, flashiest fashion form the musician's most iconic performances.
Bon-Bon is an custom-built rod puppet based off the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise character of the same name. Bon-Bon was constructed as a prototype for 3D printed part capabilities and processes.
He features custom-made eye blinking mechanisms, magnetic clothing pieces (removable bowtie and chest button), and removable puppet rods for his hands.
He's covered in soft fleece fabric with acrylic-sealed elements (eyes, cheeks, nose, etc.)

"Georgie" is an custom-built remote controlled puppet based off the Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach wet floor sign bots seen throughout the game. Georgie was constructed primarily out of recycled cardboard, foam boards, EVA foam, paper, and spray paint.
Georgie is controlled via a remove-controlled driver mechanism located on the bottom of his base. This was designed to be removable for easy maintenance access.
His head features two large remote controlled LED lights and custom 3D-printed ears. His head is completely removable and the back of his head is secured with magnets for easy maintenance access.
